The 8th grade A NBMS Bronco team had an action packed few days. NBMS traveled to Lake Belton High School last Thursday to match up with sister school, Lake Belton. The match was point for point for a few rallies, but the NBMS Broncos pulled ahead to take the first set 25-16. Olivia Dann was on fire with her defense, and really ignited the excitement! The NBMS Broncos took that excitement into the second set, which started off going back and forth in points. It was obvious that LBMS was ready to respond and would not go down without a fight in the second set. The teamwork of the NBMS Broncos paid off, as they pushed for a 28-26 victory to take the match in two sets. Olivia Dann was the player of the game for the matchup against Lake Belton Middle, as her solid defensive blocking prevented several attacks. The NBMS team had a short break over the weekend and traveled to Midway Middle School on Monday night. This match was incredibly important, as another game in the win column would mean that the NBMS Broncos were undefeated in regular season play. The Broncos came out with excitement to take the first set 25-12, with Azeley Johnson being responsible for serving through a seven point streak to spark the momentum. In spite of errors in communication, the Broncos were able to remain in control of the second set by winning 25-14. We are so proud of the effort of the ladies in their undefeated season! The NBMS Broncos will travel to Copperas Cove on Saturday, October 26th for the district tournament. Information on game times and brackets will be shared soon.
