NBMS 7A GIRLS-52; BMS-7

The NBMS Girls Bronco basketball traveled across town to Belton Middle School on Monday night. 7A opened the evening, but struggled to get off to a strong start. The Broncos finished the first quarter up 13-2, but fell short of a couple of team goals. The second quarter allowed the opportunity to regroup. Team communication improved and the defense was able to work together to regain possession of the ball. The Broncos edged ahead to gain a twenty point lead before the half. Kaleileana Cress led the first half scoring with 10 points. The Broncos continued to strive for better in the second half. The fourth quarter was by far the best performance, as the Broncos held the Tigers to a scoreless quarter. The final of the game was 52-7. Olivia Dann was the leading scorer with 19, followed closely by Kaleileana Cress with 18 points. Kaleigh Jackson found the three point line in the fourth quarter, and contributed a total of 5 points. Ariah Vail and Cadence Williams each had 4 goals. Special congratulations to Kaleileana Cress for being selected as Monday night’s player of the game for her leadership, team mentality, and intense defensive efforts which led to additional scoring opportunities. The Broncos will be traveling to Midway on Saturday for the District tournament. More information and brackets will be released later this week.
