The North Belton and Lake Belton Middle School girls basketball teams got the opportunity to play one another at Lake Belton High School this last game. It was an amazing experience for the girls to play at their future high school and have a crowd that was louder than ever! To start off the game, in the 1st quarter Mees scored 2 points while playing a great defensive game. It was a slow start, but our girls picked it up coming into the 2nd quarter after regrouping and coming together. Shaffer and Kanzenbach both scored 2 points and the team worked together on and off the court. Although North girls were fighting hard in the 1st half, we fell short and went into half-time with a score of 6-13. Coming back out, Shaffer played tough and was a great asset to the team in the 3rd quarter! Due to Shaffer pushing through the game and doing the best she could to help her teammates, this made her NBMS 7B player of the game! She put up 2 more points and made 1 free throw. This was North’s best defensive quarter and the communication started to pick up from here leading into the last quarter of the game. Monroe also got strong and fought hard putting up 2 points in the 4th quarter. The girls worked together and each brought something into this game! Although the game did not turn out how we wanted, with an ending score of 11-21, North girls learned a lot and are ready for next week's game!
