The NBMS 8th grade B team came out swinging Friday night as they competed at the 8th grade tournament hosted at Lake Belton Middle school. The Broncos defeated Academy in the first set but came up short in the second and third sets. On Saturday morning, the Lady Broncos rolled past Midway, earning a two-set victory. Their strong performance advanced them to the consolation championship, where they faced Bonham. The team came up just short in a close contest, ultimately falling in the third set, 25-20. Defensively, Guiliana Gandara, Lilly Smith, Amilya Kaiser and Kadance Moore were standouts, making key plays and helping keep the team competitive. Isabella Saucedo did a great job setting and helping lead the offense. The stand out servers were Amilya Kaiser, Sydney Bilbrey and Kinsley Sheka, who each contributed with strong serving performances, including multiple aces. Overall, the B-Team showed a lot of competitiveness and continued to battle until the final point. The team will have another opportunity to compete Thursday at Cove Lee, where they will look to build on this performance.
